Hariyali Kofta Recipe

Ingredients

  • For Koftas
  • chopped Spinach(palak)- 1/2 cup
  • chopped Fenugreek(Methi)- 1/2 cup
  • chopped lambsquarter(bathua)- 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour(besan)- 2tsp
  • Chopped onion-1/2
  • Cumin seeds(jeera)-1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green chilli -1
  • Chat masala- 2tsp
  • oil
  • For Gravy
  • Onion paste-2
  • Garlic-Ginger paste(adrak lehsun)- 2tsp
  • Cream-1/2 cup
  • Tomato puree-1/2cup
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Cumin(jeera)- 1tsp
  • Bay leaves(tejpatta)- 2
  • Cinnamon stick(dalchini)-1/2 inch
  • Black cardamom(badi elaichi)- 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander powder(dhaniya)-1tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder(haldi)- 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1tsp
  • oil
  • Water

How to make Hariyali Kofta

  • For making Koftas-:
  • Mix all the kofta ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into small round balls.
  • Heat the oil in a frypan and deep-fry the koftas till golden brown color on medium flame.
  • Place them on an absorbent paper and keep them aside.
  • For making gravy-:
  • Heat the oil in a pan and add cinnamon (dalchini), black cardamom (badi elaichi), black peppercorn (kali mirch), and cumin seeds (jeera) for few seconds,
  • Add onions and ginger-garlic paste on a medium flame and stir till golden brown.
  • Add the coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala, tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  • Add warm water and cook for 6-8mins.
  • Add fried koftas(just before eating), mix well,and cook for a min.
  • Remove from the flame .
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and cream and serve hot.
